Project Partner

Sofia Development Association (SDA) is a non-governmental, not-for-profit organization, established by Sofia Municipality in 2010.

SDA is a resource center for research, analysis, innovation, and experimentation, working to support the cooperation between Sofia Municipality, civil society, the business, and academic institutions. We develop and implement projects aimed to strengthen the innovation ecosystems in the city, through partnerships between science, research organizations, and the business; to attract expert and scientific talent to tackle short- and long-term challenges in urban development; to achieve sustainable economic growth for the city and the region. The SofiaGreen unit of SDA works on projects in the fields of environmental policy, climate change, clean air, public transport, and alternative mobility. With ample experience in multi-country EU-funded projects (under Horizon Europe, INTERREG DTP, INTERREG Europe, DG Home, Erasmus+, ESF+, Horizon 2020), SDA is particularly strong in managing interactions between local authorities and quadruple helix partners in the design and implementation of innovative policy measures and tools for territorial cooperation, peer-to-peer learning, benchmarking and validation.
